Controlling Sharpness in Digital Photography
Brian
Auer writes, "Most of the time, you'll want to get the sharpest
image out of your camera possible. I say most of the time
because there are instances where blur is a good thing. But for
now, we'll assume you want a good crisp photo. Sharpening a
photo can be done in the post-processing, but it's best to limit
the amount of software sharpening because it can yield poor
results if abused. The following 6 tips are things you should
keep in mind before you release the shutter:"

Digital SLR Camera Lens Buying Guide
Brian
Auer writes, "The main categories of lenses are: fish-eye,
super-wide, wide, standard, telephoto, super-telephoto, and
macro (there are other specialty lenses too). Most of those
categories can also be split into prime and zoom lenses. You
might know exactly what you want, or you might just narrow it
down to 2 or 3. I narrowed my search down to super-wide zooms,
super-telephoto zooms, and prime macros. My definition of each
type is as follows:"

The Field of Digital Photography
Tracy Hargraves writes, "For
years, photography aficionados have attempted to rebuff the ever
growing influx of the digital age. Even today, many who consider
themselves true photographers prefer manual cameras with
traditional film. Yet an increasing number of artists have
realized that the new technology of today can not only be used
effectively for practical purposes, but can be used to create
art in a new way, a way that would not be available but for our

Choosing a Tripod for Nature Photography
Sam
Zaydel writes, "First, let's quickly examine what a tripod will
do for us. First and foremost, it supports our camera, attached
lens, and some of the other gear, like a flash unit, etc. It
helps us position our camera at an odd angle at times. It helps
us get higher than our typical shooting stance, and get lower at
times for macro work. The most appropriate tripod for you will
depend on your shooting style, and choice of subject matter.
There is not a tripod out there that is better with all subject
matter."
