Don’t have a DSLR? No problem. Does your laptop have a camera? At least, that’s what one concert goer thought. After presumably smuggling his MacBook Pro into a packed venue, one gentleman risked the life of the computer by hoisting it above his head amid throngs of dancing fans to take a photograph using his laptop. Like most, I’m sure your reaction to this is something along the lines of, “Really? You’re going to be that guy?” As you can see below, the answer is yes. Yes, he is.
This “photographer’s” dedication to capturing a moment, in addition to making me laugh until my sides hurt, made me reflect on the evolution of photography in general. I feel like such a sighting should come more as a shock, but it seems like I can’t go anywhere without spotting someone using their iPad to take a photograph.
Now, I’m a fairly young person, so it’s weird to make such claims, but back in my day photographers used these devices called cameras to create their art. And if you were really serious about it, you could upgrade from a point and shoot to a DSLR for not much more money than an iPad and certainly less than the cost of a MacBook Pro. I wonder, is this trend going to be a mainstay? Will Canon and Nikon be lured by the charm of a tablet like so many former camera users have?
Before you know it, we’ll all be using iPads to browse the classifieds during our lunch breaks, distraught at the idea of having to sift through all the “Upgraded to the latest MacBook Pro, no longer have a use for this 24.1 megapixel DSLR” ads.

A phone takes better pictures than a Ipad
Forgive them for they know not what they do…
I saw this “phenomenon” on my recent trip to Gatlinburg TN. How can someone either be too cheap or too lazy to purchase at least a $100 dollar point and shoot at the local Walmart? Itll at least take better photos and wont take up much space like an ipad or laptop
When I was traveling I saw this everywhere ! Tons of iPad photographers ! I thought it was the funniest thing !
