If you’re the type of photographer who is always buying new gear–and let’s face it, who isn’t–you might find solace in the music video made by Irwin Wong titled, I Wanna Be a Cameraman. The song reveals what most of us are feeling, as Wong sings humorously accurate lyrics such as “now I’m buying camera lenses practically weekly.” But, where this video really shines is when it starts poking fun at the entire thing, calling out cameramen that are, maybe, a bit too sure of themselves. Have a laugh right here:
Wong says the video was made for fun, for other photographers who dream of quitting their day jobs and turning professional. The entire video was shot on a Nikon D800 with a Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 AIS, Nikkor 135mm f/2 DC, and a Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 G. He also mentions taking Kelby Training to improve his workflow.
As for all the camera eye candy present throughout the parody, Wong graciously thanks his friends and cast for allowing their equipment to be used in the video.
