Road-tripping across the USA is for most people a dream eventually to come true, a subject on their bucket list; in fact, it has become some sort of a myth, for its mesmerizing landscapes commonly depicted in films, illustrations, photographs, and many other art forms.
Photographer Mike Matas, together with his girlfriend, rented a car to take this much desired trip during the Fall of 2012, starting in San Francisco and going all the way through the USA to NYC. Two weeks later, and after 3,000 miles and 5,000 photos, Matas compiled the whole journey in this three minute video—an approximate process to what is timelapse photography, if that can be applied:
If you take some time to scrub throughout the frames you’ll certainly find almost every picture worth the stare.
