For Jerry Ghionis, he was lucky enough to have the whole process captured on HD video. From the lighting adjustments to the subtle changes in position of his subject, we can watch his favorite photo unfold.
As a photographer, you should be prepared to assume any and every position imaginable just to get the shot. I think many would agree that leaning over a balcony with only your assistant keeping you from falling over is a small price to pay for a beautiful photo.
