Take a behind the scenes look at a martial arts photoshoot that presented photographer Clifton Li with the challenge of capturing water splashes. Li and his team constructed a shallow pool of water using plastic sheeting as the main source of the water splashes, but assistants help add to the splash by tossing buckets of water into some of the shots. As the martial artists practiced their moves in the water, the team used remnants of the plastic sheeting to protect all the gear from the splashes. Take a look:
Among the gear you find a Canon 1D, Chimera softboxes, and a Broncolor Scoro to power the multiple light setups he used to help freeze the water drops from various angles.
