Canada is home to some of the world’s most beautiful landscapes, and Banff, Alberta, has become the poster child for Canadian nature. Surely Andrew Caitens, Australian born and now living near the Canadian Rocky Mountains, would agree, as he snapped this gorgeous vertical landscape from the second Vermillion Lake, a few minutes from Banff:
Caitens captured the image with a Canon 5D Mark III and Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 II lens. With quality gear and beautiful surroundings, it’s easy to get inspired in that part of the world.
“I know people that have lived in Banff for over 10 years and still have a never ending to-do list. I lived there for over 2 years and each season has its perks. It really depends what you want to do…skiing/snowboarding or hiking & camping. Personally my favourite time of year is September. Super beautiful, leaves are changing, no hot nights or bugs around the lakes and you might be there for the first dump of snow too!” –Andrew Caitens

On the image Sunset Over Banff, I would like to know how Andrew Caitens was able to photograph the stars in front of the clouds? It appears that the stars were added in post process, which is fine if done well, but it should have been stated in the article that it is an altered image.
