Photographer Ross Schram von Haupt is a landscape photographer based in Bellingham, WA. He loves photographing the Pacific Northwest but he also travels throughout the US and internationally whenever he gets time. This image, however, was shot closer to home at the Samuel H. Boardman State Scenic Corridor on the Oregon coast, a roughly 12 mile stretch of pristine rugged coastline that offers discerning landscape photographers some breathtaking scenery:
Schram von Haupt was driving up and down this stretch, also known as Whalehead Beach, looking for something unique when he stumbled upon this spot and this scene.
The scene was captured with a Nikon D810 paired with a Nikon 16-35m f/4 lens at ISO 100, 35mm, f/8 and 1/3 of a second. He double processed the image: once to bring up the shadows and once to balance the highlights.
