Panasonic today introduces the LUMIX DMC-TS3, specifically designed for active users who want to capture high-quality photos and 1920 x 1080 full-High Definition videos, incorporating a powerful rugged design and new outdoor-friendly features, such as a built-in GPS function, a compass, altimeter and barometer. The new 12.1-megapixel LUMIX TS3 further strengthens its toughness, when compared to its LUMIX TS2 predecessor, and is now waterproof to approximately 40 feet (12m); shockproof to approximately 6.6 feet (2m); freezeproof to 14ºF (-10 degrees C); and dustproof.

For the first time, three of the PowerShot A-series cameras will have 720p HD video, advanced Smart AUTO including Subject Detection, and Creative Filters including Toy Camera and Monochrome mode, providing an increase in overall convenience and efficiency. Whether at a concert or taking a bike ride with the family, the Canon PowerShot A3300 IS, A2200 and A1200 cameras now have 32 predefined shooting situations in its advanced Smart AUTO feature, with the new addition of Subject Detection, where a specific object is the main focal point of the image.

Casio announced the stylish and compact EX-ZS10 and EX-ZS5, two new models which join the company’s growing EXILIM family of digital cameras. Competitively priced at $119.99 and $99.99 respectively, the new EX-ZS10 and EX-ZS5 offer a number of high-performance features which are typically not found in entry-level compact digital cameras, including 14.1 megapixel resolution and 26mm wide-angle lenses with generous 5x optical zooms. What’s more is that with the EX-ZS10, users can record their memories in high‑definition as the camera offers 720p HD video. The EX-ZS5 features VGA video recording at a resolution of 640×480.

The ST700 represents the ultimate in dual screen innovation from Samsung. The new camera boasts a 1.8” front LCD screen, the largest ever incorporated into this style of camera, giving even more opportunities for portrait self-shooting, which has become the hallmark of the DualView camera. Sony has designed five new innovative 16.2-megapixel Cyber-shot cameras (models DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC-WX10 and DSC-WX9) that are the world’s first compact digital still cameras to include 3D Still Image mode for taking 3D images using only one lens and imager. They also have innovative Dual Rec (record) technology, for taking still photos during video capture. The DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC-WX10 and DSC-WX9 cameras record crystal clear movies at 60i in 1080 AVCHD format.

The XZ-1 pairs a high sensitivity 10 megapixel CCD sensor with the TruePic V Image Processor to produce clear and colorful photos using all the pixel information from each image to provide the best digital images possible. The image processor is noted for accurate natural color, true-to-life flesh tones, brilliant blue skies and precise tonal expression; it also lowers image noise in photos shot at higher ISO settings (ISO 100 to ISO 3200), enabling great results in low-light situations. The XZ-1 also offers the advanced manual controls that experienced photographers expect from digital SLR cameras.

The TX100V is also the first Cyber-shot camera with a 3.5-inch OLED with touch screen that provides deeper blacks and more vibrant color contrast on the screen, all while being thinner and having a faster response time than most LCDs. Additionally, the DSC-WX10 camera is one of the only digital still cameras to include a high-speed linear auto focus feature that provides quick and precise focusing similar to the speed of a DSLR camera.
