People usually think of Photoshop as the number one photo editing software out there, but Lightroom is, in my opinion, a close contender for the title. At least for me, Lightroom has proven time and time again to be a great utility, and if you know how to use it correctly it can work wonders. A quick tip on working with Lightroom comes from the following video by wedding photographer Trevor Dayley:
As Dayley describes, this tip is extremely simple, yet it can be very powerful. Lightroom is known for having easy to use tools that provide maximum output. Here’s how you can take advantage of the Survey Mode:
- Select the photos you want to compare.
- Press N to open Survey Mode.
- Select the pictures you want to keep.
- Press G to go back to the Library Module.
As you can see in the video above, there is no predetermined limit to the images you have to select—you can choose two or four photos to review just the same. Lightroom will automatically adapt the screen space to fit the amount of photos you have chosen.
What tricks do you use in your Lightroom workflow?
