Just a few miles from some of Maine’s most popular tourist destinations lies Raven’s Nest, an unmarked overlook of the Atlantic Ocean. While exploring Acadia National Park, photographer Colin Zwirner managed to stumble onto the remote landmark at one of the most opportune moments possible:
Creating a panorama composed of six separate exposures, Zwiner captured serene purples and pinks illuminating the area’s granite cliffs, fractured by ancient volcanic activity. For this shot, he was equipped with a Nikon D750 armed with a Tamron 15-30mm f/2.8 lens.
It’s hard to believe that this little slice of heaven is often overlooked by passersby. The striking intermingling of earth and water is quite unlike anything else out there.
