When Samantha Ogletree‘s fire breathing friend requested a series of bridal portraits in celebration of her upcoming marriage, the two decided to put their heads together to conceptualize an image completely out of the ordinary. The final result has an undeniable stunning intensity rarely seen in wedding photography:
Although the flames look as though they might light the forested setting ablaze at any moment, Ogletree strategically positioned the bride into a grove between the trees and used a long lens to create the illusion of danger without actually putting anyone at risk. As an extra precaution, the women only ventured into the woods following a rain storm, while the foliage was still damp.
Aside from the light of the fire, Ogletree and Brown employed three supplementary lights to attain the surreal, fantasy-esque aura contained within the image. One of the fills was equipped with a blue fill to counteract the warmth of the fire and further add depth.
There’s no doubt about it; this image will be one that the blushing bride is sure to treasure for a lifetime and surely won’t be duplicated.
