As any local can tell you, the natural beauty present throughout the Pacific Northwest is a sight to see. John Eklund, an Oregon native, is fortunate enough to have the Pacific Northwest as his backyard, and he’s decided to share his good fortune with the rest of us by way of his latest timelapse, Purely Pacific Northwest. The timelapse took Eklund 13 months to finish and over 260,000 photographs to make. While that may sound like quite an undertaking, all of Eklund’s hard work payed off. See for yourself right here:
The images were shot using a pair of Canon 5D Mark IIIs in addition to a 5D Mark II. The Canon bodies were outfitted with Canon 24mm f/1.4 L II, Canon 16-35mm f/2.8 L II, Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 L lenses and the pans were accomplished by employing the handy Dynamic Perception Stage One and Stage Zero dollies.
“I choose to shoot locations that appeal to the way I would like to interpret the story of time. Here in the Pacific Northwest, there are endless opportunities to document the magnificence of the world around us. I have discovered that when time is the storyteller, a special kind of truth emerges.”
