Perplexing Montage of News Reporters Misusing the Word “Selfie”

Whether you love selfies or hate them, most people know what one is and how it differs from a photograph. At least we thought so. Everyone’s favorite British satirical show host, John Oliver, created a montage of newscasters calling regular photographs selfies. This could be especially infuriating if you’re a photographer who hates the selfie, but it definitely shows us that some newscasters need to expand their lexicon:

Is the word selfie slowly taking over the world or do these newscasters just need to learn some basic vocabulary?

At least we have John Oliver to set them straight.
