The transition from summer to winter brings a lot of changes in our surroundings. Besides temperature and weather conditions, even the colors of the neighborhood begin to change. This is what makes autumn an amazing season. Autumn is best known for the colorful shades of yellows and reds which gives a good break from the monotonous green. Photographer Tanmay Sapkal captured the following beautiful essence of autumn during the morning hours at Yoyogi Park in Tokyo:
The image is a blend of two exposures; one for the highlights and mid-tones, and the other for the shadows. The brighter exposure was taken at 28mm, f/10, ISO 100, and 10s. The darker exposure was taken at 28mm, f/10, ISO 100, and 2s.
This brilliant blend of the brighter and the darker scenes has resulted in a pretty moody image of the park. Further, the dominant yellow color in the image gives a strong impression of the autumn season. Also, what’s interesting about the image is that the tree in the middle almost divides the frame into two halves symmetrically. Sapkal indeed has composed and exposed for the image brilliantly.
