Interesting Photo of the Day: Illuminated Snow in Chicago

If you’re not enjoying winter, you’re not shooting enough. The season is a great time for landscape and cityscape photography, and you don’t need to go much farther than outside your house to find interesting shots. In case you needed proof, Ellimis captured this neat snowy image in Chicago’s Federal Plaza:

By shooting with a 1/30 second shutter speed, f/2.8 aperture, and 640 ISO set to a Canon 6D, Ellimis managed to turn this simple in-ground light bulb—otherwise illuminating a flag in the plaza—into something out of a sci-fi film. The beauty of the shot is the simplicity: you don’t need a wide angle or studio lights, just a keen eye for interesting details.
