Ever watch an Arizona storm as it marches across the horizon? The air suddenly shifts, and you can feel the static charge building in the air. Well, that’s just what photographer Dan Ransom captured one summer weekend at the Grand Canyon. In his case, the monsoon touched off a crazy electrical storm that made for a wonderful photo op:
Dan took this shot using his Canon 5D and a Sigma 20mm f/1.8 lens at f/4 and an ISO of 100. The photo itself is a composite of shots taken over 25 minutes. They were then stacked and merged in Photoshop to create this stellar image.
