Patience is key when it comes to photography. Especially in the case of landscape photography. Photographer Justin Baltz is thankful that he waited because when an opportunity was presented to him, he captured this absolute beauty of an image:

Baltz took the image with his Nikon camera, 20mm f/1.8 lens, and a Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer. He obtained the panorama of the sky by stitching 6 shots, exposing each shot for 120 seconds at ISO 800 and f/1.8. The foreground is a panorama that he got by stitching 6 shots, each exposed for 216 seconds at ISO 800 and f/1.8.

“I hiked out to one of my favorite overlooks of Longs Peak. I quickly set up shop but the core did not rise like it was suppose to at 3:30am. I started to freak out thinking I was wasting my time and missed it. But through the light pollution at 4:00am the Milky Way began to appear.”
