Time and Again: A Timelapse Journey Through 15 Countries

We’ve all seen timelapses, time and again, but I bet Time and Again is not a timelapse that you’ve seen. Three years in the making, it’s the culmination of one man’s dream to travel the world and experience first-hand the wonders and the diversity that this blue planet has to offer:

This is not the first time that photographer Kien Lam has made a timelapse like this. His first timelapse video of his travels across 17 countries in 343 days was uploaded three years ago. It was an instant hit on social media. He remembers,

“When I woke up on Jan 1st, 2012, I reached for my phone and saw over 200 new emails.”

The responses were mixed. While some appreciated his work and patience in putting something like this together, others accused him: “You went to Jordan and you didn’t go to Israel?” or “Where’s India?”

For Lam, they were both a guide to what he should do next as well as an inspiration to continue doing what he loved doing.

Chichen Itza in Mexico

He quit his corporate career, became a full-time photographer, and used the flexibility in his work schedule to pursue his wanderlust. It’s a journey that took him to 15 more countries over the next three years and produced well over 10,000 images. He’s been to the Annapurna Circuit in Nepal, Chichen Itza in Mexico, the Blue Mountains in Australia, Dubai in UAE, Udaipur in India, the Fox Glacier in New Zealand, Little Corn Island in Nicaragua, and dozens of other exotic places across the world.
